I’ve never seen male flowers before, it’s super cool.

Of course! I sprayed this branch 5 days before I flipped, then again every 5 or 6 days for 21 days. I really soaked the branch at every node about 15 minutes before my lights turned off- it will totally burn the plant if the light shines on it too long. I got this Omega brand STS solution on Amazon, they also sent me 3 regular seeds that I probably won’t ever grow due to plant limits, I don’t want to roll the dice on genetics. Some guys will clip the male branch and collect the pollen, but I’m the only one smoking this so I’m just letting it wind pollinate. I’ll spray down my tent with water after this cycle to deactivate any remaining pollen.

I’ve never done this before and won’t harvest until the middle of next month, but those are definitely male flowers so I’m optimistic.

      Wait…

You ordered from Amazon and they sent you cannabis seeds with your order? That’s a new one on me.

Thanks for the detailed response. One thing to remember is that all your equipment will be exposed to that pollen. I’ve got a separate set of fans I only use for when I know I’ll have pollen in the tent. I’ve found that it’s impossible to get most fans perfectly clean without risking shorting them out so I play it extra safe by removing them too. Finding out you missed some pollen a couple weeks too late sucks… A lot.

Anyway what’s the story with these genetics? Are you back crossing or pollinating multiple plants? I’d love to know more.

Omega Genetix (it’s with an X so it’s edgy) Brazilian Purple Kush. It’s labeled as an “adult novelty souvenir” and has a warning to not germinate without legal authority. I think it’s just OmegaGenetix.com but I don’t want that to be misconstrued as an endorsement, and even if it was you shouldn’t listen to me. Their STS is quality though 🤷‍♂️

Legal situation, currently, is that any cannabis plant tissue that tests below the thc marker is legally hemp.

Meaning any seed and veg clone of a cannabis species is, legally, a hemp plant, until it flowers and begins to produce thc.

It is a similar loophole that mushroom growers have, where spores of psilocybin-producing fungi technically do not yet have psilocybin in them, and thus are legal to own and sell.

As I understand it, this is the federal stance in the US for cannabis, as I know official licensed farms who are legally selling “hemp” clones of known weed strains across state lines. Please double check your laws before taking this as gospel, as I dont actually directly deal with sales so I dont need to know the strict legal details.

I was shocked too lmfao but yeah it’s like Purple Brazilian or something. If I can find the packaging I’ll send you their website, I remember it being sketchy as fuck.

I’m already replacing a bunch of stuff on my next grow (any recommendation for an oscillating fan?), so hopefully I’ll be alright 🤞

These are Black Widows from ILGM, which I think technically makes this piracy 😬 If this experiment works out I’d like to try crossing, but this is just 4 plants- two other Widows and a random bagseed. The bagseed was out of some straight fucking 🔥🔥 so I’m expecting good things out of those seeds but we’ll see!

That’s a lot of effort considering the pollen wouldn’t be viable after 2 weeks of being exposed to normal temperatures and air.
