I’m starting to get more into high-rise pants due to their fit and comfort, but the biggest issue is that the pockets are at the waist (as they should be, I suppose)

It makes putting in my phone or wallet feel odd, as they are sitting at the side of my lower torso

Is that just something to deal with when wearing these pants?

Honestly man, I’ve just started wearing a backpack everywhere. You can get cool looking ones (mine is a dead Kennedys one I love) and it’s like a purse for ya. If you’re like me and like to walk and jog a lot you can keep all kinds of shit in there that just take up pocket room. Your smokes, a sweater if you have volatile weather like we have here, your wallet, bus passes, car keys, your flask if you like to day drink like I do, I feel naked without mine now.

maybe because I’m used to high-rise pants, but I never had any issue with the pockets. Oh, except on one pair of jeans I have with an unusually high rise, the five-pocket layout puts my phone in front of me, which gets really weird when I sit down.

The obvious solution is high waist cargo pants. Best of both worlds.

Don’t think there is a fix besides tailoring in bigger pockets or having a fanny pack
