• The show is just “war is bad but it’s inevitable in human nature uga” extremely generic liberal stuff, but its fans were absolutely fascists, like a lot of people were calling themselves “Jaegerists” and being apologistic to everything Eren does “He has to kill all mankind trust me they forced him to be like this” because of how cool and edgy Eren was, that was until the final episode where started crying over a girl and the Jaegarists were dressed up as Nazi lookalikes

I think AoT was fine during the first 3 seasons. But in season 4, the story became fascist vs fascist and I didn’t know who to root for anymore. But yeah, their interpretation of why war happens is pretty liberal and nihilist.

I think that was the point that the writer wanted, it went from a clear good and bad side to “both sides bad” once Paradis Island got hold of the nuke, Erwin died and the real land outside was revealed, similarly Eren’s character development, he went from the kid who wants to end the suffering of his people and revenge him mom to a genocidal maniac who managed to kill 80% of humanity and who also was the reason his parents died, the point is to stop rooting for him, but the fans were so attached to the point that they’ve started making apologies for him, just like Mikasa in the show. Attack on Titan is like Breaking Bad or Fight Club, where the main character is not meant to be idolized, except that the show’s creator is “anti-korean” which was quite visible in the 3rd season with all the “Ymir built roads and bridges, also that massacre never happened” with the restorationists and the “they put us in an island and left us with no weapons to protect ourselves and our leaders are cucks who don’t want us to be able to fight back” with the King Fritz thing.

Some mangas are like that, you should also look like manhwa authors from occupied zone of Korea portray Japan and China. Japan in them is usually completely insignificant backwater full of small, insecure and superstitious savages. China is either vast human hive or “here be monsters” Mordor, but also comically weak and owned by superior Koreans every time. DPRK is at best completely ignored.

Wow, I had no idea this is what he was aiming for. At least, that angle was abandoned.

Waltuh and Tyler Durden at least didn’t exterminate humanity so that fandom is something else.

How even can these people unicornically like the series if it’s that fascist?

I mean we have Godzilla for Titans, just it’s Kaijus instead of people so even better.

I remember thinking that AoT has something to do with actual Titans from Godzilla when I first heard about it before I looked it up lol. Then I saw what it actually was and yeah…
