Marvel is utterly bland capeshit with the personality sanded off by committee. DC is utterly bland capeshit with worse CGI and weird Randian undertones.
I consider myself to be a superhero fan, but that comes with lots of caveats and context and criticism of what I consume. Superheroes in my opinion aren’t inherently bad or neoliberal, its just that neoliberal culture/society embraces it and uses it to further it’s goals, as does any culture or society.
At its core, its just people with superpowered abilities. Status quo, good and evil, philosophy, are neutral aspects.
Fr I’m Batman fan since forever, but I don’t want to assoocite with current DC fanbse or DC universe.

I never really got into the western comics thing, so I wasn’t really aware of her, but I don’t think I lost much of value. I have since seen her described as an “alleged actor”, which does give me some nice petty chuckles.
Her acting skill’s noticeably worse than that of Arnold Schwarzenegger as a reference point.
I feel like Arnold and Stallone get a lot of crap thrown their ways for their stereotypical “strong man” roles, but they can be legitimately incredible and emotional actors. Rambo’s breakdown scene at the end of First Blood for example, or Arnold’s satirical and charming performances in Last Action Hero, Kindergarten Cop, or just plain good acting in True Lies.
This Zionist scum is just a shitty action movie actor all around.
Yeah, Arnie’s actually a great actor with tons of charisma and screen presence. Gal’s acting should be compared to the likes of Steven Seagal or Van Damme if you insist on staying with the 80s action hero theme.
Even those two had their moments, when the wooden character aligned with their wooden personality. I would more compared her to Tom Cruise, the absolute worst screenwood i ever seen.
The worst one of all 80s action guys has to be Chuck Norris.

i never really cared much for comics as a kid… Calvin and Hobbes was really the only one I had books of. I watched xmen and Spiderman and Batman cartoons.
I watched a couple of the first comic book movies when CGI was really ramping up, but I just can’t get into the Good Vs Evil crap where they smash up whole cities fighting and no one gets hurt but in the end the good guy manages to hurt the bad guy and that’s that.
Shit gets so old so fast. It was fine for cartoons when i was a kid but I don’t think any adult should really be engrossed in such banal plots. I’m not saying people can’t enjoy mindless entertainment, but there’s a line between enjoying mindless entertainment and obsessing over details of shitty movies.
My issue was really simple, I like very concrete beginning and ends to stories. It always seemed to me that western comics had thirty different timelines by different authors that may or may not be connected to each other and assume you have read X amount of the other material. If I wanted to start reading say…Batman, nobody would be able to agree on where it starts. I just can’t stand it.
I read some manga on occasion (I live in Japan, basically everybody does) but western comics just never really worked for me.
To be fair, I think that compared to other superheroes, Batman is relatively easy to pickup and read.
