I’m such a fool, aren’t I? Good thing you came along and explained that German idiom to me which I’ve heard and used for decades now. In my mother tongue. Which is German. Can you explain some other idiom to me now? Who are the Hempels, and why do they never clean up under their Sofa (that’s a German term for “Couch”). /s
