I hate to ask but there way too many subscription services and I don’t have the means to watch the World Cup. Are there any places out there where I can stream it?

Not throwing shade on OP but by simply watching it, you are supporting them. Word of mouth and more is way more powerful and earns them more money than they lose because of you pirating.

If you want to, go for it, but it’s not quite guilt free.

The World Cup could be referring to so many things!

We have the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, Mens Rugby World Cup 2023, Netball World Cup 2023, Mens Cricket World Cup 2023. And there’s probably more.

They are streaming the Women’s World Cup 2023 on BBC and ITV in the UK which you can access for free with a suitable VPN (results may vary as BBC in particular actively blocks them) or using something like Smart DNS Proxy which is a paid service, but it’s cheap and in my experience much more reliable for accessing UK channels. See this page for the full schedule. You can also watch on 7Plus which is an Australian tv/streaming channel.

Thank you so much! I’m going to look into figuring out how to stream it via a VPN. I already use a popular one so I’m gonna assume some of its endpoints may already be blocked - worth a shot though.

Unless I misunderstand something, isn’t the football world cup over?

You could probably find some torrents of the content, but in general I have seen that the sea of media that are carried by torrents notably lack a lot of football

Yep, that’s what I meant. I’m wanting to watch this with my spouse but it’s so hard to figure out how to watch sports without having to pay hundreds for 10 different services.

honestly although we aint fuckin with reddit no more, head over to a general thread on match day at /r/soccer and see if links are posted in the comments. usually are…or let’s hope enough people move to lemmy in that time and one of the football communities is up and running with links galore.

or the glory days of reddit are relived and new sport streaming communities pop up on lemmy by that time. i have hope they will, especially as we near the first match
