Maybe it’s because she admitted I was the one who truly loved her, not the one she truly loved.

    Wow.

It’s only Sunday, but I’m willing to bet this is the most powerful thing I’ll read all week. My sympathies to OOP.

That is some monstrously selfish shit on the exes part.

I had one once that I hoped would come back, but TBH, I am enjoying watching her prematurely age and fail in life, and all while I look 15 years younger than I am and am a success.

Why the drive by this morning?

Though the aftermath of this can be ending up alone, I honestly prefer it over staying with the above. Or so I’m trying to convince myself lmao

You never know where you end up. I thought I’d end up alone in a shed in the woods. I am currently married and have two and a half cats (we just met an outdoor cat we’re trying to cat distribute our way) and am somehow generally liked by my community despite being unashamedly weird. Life takes you where it wants to take you.

I had an ex do something similar a couple years after we broke up. She was complaining about being alone and asked me if I was happy alone. I am, I love being alone. Got my cat( which I had before her) and my peace and I’m happy. Don’t think that’s the answer she wanted to hear.

With people like that, I’ve learned that no answer is correct lol

But glad to hear it! Me too with the cats hahaha

You don’t need to try and convince yourself. It’s true. Loving someone who doesn’t love you back is torture.

True enough, it really is torturous. Thanks dude, it does help to hear it from another even if one already knows it haha

Loneliness is a difficult cope but thank goodness for cats!

And then theres being in love without being able to actually make it work without significant life choices so the chemistry is powerful, but the compatibility isn’t there.

        Torture turns into disaster.
