I’ve just found Syncthing and I’m blown away by this app. So, I’m interested if any of my other apps can be replaced by foss equivalents that can be synced.

My first suggestion is Obsidian - which, at first I had problems syncing with paid solutions, but syncs flawlessly with Syncthing.

Does anyone have any more suggestions? Ideally looking to sync between android devices, but any info is much appreciated.

Update : many thanks for all the suggestions - some good ones. Hopefully we can keep adding the ones we find that can be synced from local folders.

I use it on logseq, on aegis backups (2FA app), KeePassDX for my passwords, also I have a folder inside my picture galleries which is synced with my computer, so everytime I take a picture I want to save on my computer y just copy it there. Also I have plain text editor and I have a txt file shared with my computer I use it mainly to share web links between my devices. I’m still looking for ways to sync calendars and to do apps, so I can get notifications everywhere for my events so I dont forget them, but havent manage to do it just yet.

Hi, can you share the name of your plain text editor? I use aCalendar+ and opentasks synced via davx5 on Nextcloud.

I used one called simple generic text editor available on f droid. However I just found out KDE connect works very well for sharing links and clipboard. It is even better and faster and works with almost all operating systems i guess. Would be nice to give it a try.

Thanks for the reply. I like obsidian at the moment: I can sync across all my devices - using Syncthing, so it’s very workable for me. I guess whichever editor works for you is good - though I must admit obsidian is a bit too overloaded for me, but I’ll persist as the Syncthing works well. I’ll try to simplify it with minimal plugins.
