I wonder about that myself. The article says that there is “no evidence” for either side’s claims, but Russia’s past history of false accusations is in fact evidence that one side is more credible than the other. So is the inherent implausibility of Russia’s accusation now.
Whether or not someone is a liar is not a matter of personal opinion but rather an objective fact. Failing to report on that is a false neutrality, one more concerned with the appearance of being neutral than with the truth.
