But why is it always nazis? Nobody jokingly organizes a movement to eat the landlords that actually causes some landlords to get eaten, but the same cannot be said about “jokingly” organizing a hate mob that actually hurts people.
I think people joked about taboo subjects then actual Nazis didn’t get the joke and called it home.
This makes sense to me.
I’m pretty sure bronies have the same origin story.
Maybe less “didn’t get the joke” and more “started saying nazi stuff while pretending it’s still jokes”
