Always hurts seeing people abuse open source projects for drama, personal agenda, general trolling or hating on people.
I really don’t get that dynamic. Can’t they have their toxic communities somewhere else? And just concentrate on whatever that project is about while on Github?
I get that some people have mental issues. Or struggle empathizing with people or emotion in general. But most nerds I know (me included) will happily focus on technical challenges and hate all the drama because it only interferes with that.
I also (after reading the article) get that leadership sometimes are nerds themselves and not necessarily the people equipped to handle those things best…
But who are all those people fuelling that internet-drama? Do they even contribute to the open source projects they’re actively destroying?
