The 3rd doctor is probably my least favourite of the Doctors - I think he’s pompous, humourless and generally acts like he wishes he could be a Victorian gentleman instead of a time travelling alien.

That said, I love his first series, especially Inferno, and I’m quite fond of The Green Death. Does anyone else have a favourite Pertwee?

My favourite is Death to the Daleks, where the Doctor works his way through an assortment of children’s pub menu puzzles

It may not be my favorite now, but Carnival of Monsters left such an impression on me. Definitely feels “modern” in a lot of sensibilities, and is just COOL.

My go to Pertwee favourite is typically Inferno, but I like everything in Liz season.

That said, there’s plenty to like later too. The Green Death and Carnival of Monsters are well up there. I like Frontier in Space a lot too.

Sarah Jane obviously does better with Tom, but Invasion of the Dinosaurs is pretty great.

I am rather fond of 3, but I definitely see what you mean when it comes to his pompous nature. I also adore his first season. I think it is so well put together. I do wish Mike Yates first showed up in this season though. I strangely miss his presence when watching that season.

The first season just really has a different feel - there’s a lot more actual tension between the Doctor and the Brigadier for instance.

As for Mike Yates the first story I ever saw him in was Planet of the Spiders!
