@juan@nwsl I’m still pretty new to the whole thing. Afaict, it’s a federated link aggregator, so like a Reddit clone. It uses #ActivityPub but with a different format than #Mastodon does, so you get some really interesting properties – for example, I can follow #Lemmy users on Mastodon, and when I at-mention the community, it cross-posts there as well.
That does means the same lack of privacy, though, so like DMs still aren’t encrypted.
