From what I read, the USSR achieved most of its objectives in Finland despite being forced out eventually. But regardless, I agree they should have gone full hog.
It’s so unfortunate that that land is named after a slur for the native inhabitants of the land.
If I’m not mistaken a Swedish colonist explored that land and found reindeer herders who lived there, and said “hmm yes, the people who live here wear rags… let’s name them ‘people who wear rags’, and then name the land after them.” I wish there was a better name for it.

Yeah…at least the Soviets made the Finnish and German Nazis fight each other in the Lapland War.
