    You know how cops need to get tazed during their limited training? Maybe they should get restrained with head neck and torso holds during training too just to show how shit it is to do to others. Maybe even a knee between the shoulder blades while face down on pavement

    In fairness to the cops here, some of the maneuvers blocked by this are very standard. It’s something they’re trained to do. I expect that even taking a few seconds to assess what is and isn’t okay could cost an officer their life.

        It’s not the choking that’s upsetting, it’s putting someone in a prone position or restraining their torso. These can absolutely be done in a way that doesn’t require someone to not breathe

      I could be wrong, but I honestly doubt many cops are in a spit second life or death situation with a child (hand to hand) all that often.

      I don’t doubt they abuse their current rights aggressively though

      Yeah, I had to learn a lot of these as a volunteer at a group home for people with mental disabilities. They’re pretty much required for protecting yourself against someone in a rampage without taking violent measures yourself.
