I am just wondering… is it me- or is there a LOT of just general negativity here.

Every other post I see is…

  1. America is bad.
  2. Capitalism is bad. Socialism/Communism is good.
  3. If you don’t like communism, you are a fascist nazi.

Honestly, it’s kind of killing my mood with Lemmy. There are a few decent communities/subs here, but, the quality of content appears to be falling.

I mean, FFS. It can’t just be me that is noticing this. It honestly feels like I am supporting a communist platform here.

I am on social media to post and read about things related to technology, automation, race cars, etc.

Every other technology post, is somebody bashing on Elon Musk (actually- that is deserved), or talking about Reddit (Let it go. Seriously. We are here, it is there).

On my hobby of liking racecars, I guess, half of the people on lemmy feel it is OK to vandalize a car for being too big… and car hate culture is pretty big.

All of this is really turning off my mood regarding lemmy.

    I agree with you wholeheartedly. Looks like there’s a few users on this instance that you should ban (top comments on this thread). They are clearly the type of people that you are talking about in this post are too stupid to realize it.

      I prob should. And even considered it.

      But, I typically save the ban option as a last-resort.

      Also, have not seen you around in a minute.

        I pop by every few days and see what’s new. Not much activity that piques my interest in any of the Lemmy sites. Seeing a lot of what you mention in your post too. Turns me off. I don’t have the energy or fucks left to give to invest in this tech.

          I’m feeling this too. Have not seen too much good content which interests me lately. Lots of bot posts. and lots of reposted memes.

          /shrugs. Guess only time shall tell.

          If it wasn’t nearly free for me to host this server, i’d have already shut it down. But, the resources are sitting here idle, and the domain is paid for the year… so, might as well keep it going.
