I spent a few hours on there looking for actual leftists to follow, and cannot find shit in their starter packs or lists or w/e. it really is just stuffed with turbo libs

Maybe we don’t have to ‘replace’ Twitter in our lives. Just let it die.
the worst is people who act like staying on there is fighting some kind of good fight. like you’re not gonna fix the adolf hitler website by posting, you’re just justifying an addiction.
no they’re valiantly doing communism in the face of fascism

I’d forgotten how obnoxious twitter was. Self-righteous keyboard activism, totally delusional liberals, leftists screaming in to the void. Bluesky isn’t even funny because the CHUDs aren’t there, it’s just the most loathsome liberal shitheads doing a victory lap because they found a new social media site. I didn’t realize that so many people were deeply emotionally wounded by losing twitter. The whole thing just fucking sucks. Like I’m sure there are good communities but mostly what I feel looking at Bluesky is absolute certainty that the Libs are going to build themselves an iron-clad echo chamber to shut out everything happening in the world so they can have eternal brunch in peace and comfort.
You’re not wrong. We were/are probably just as bad from outside.
People posting totally unprompted “we call it skeets if you don’t like it you can leave” and “we block here” and similar culture enforcement stuff is just grating. They’re trying to establish a distinct culture from twitter but at least what I’m seeing it already is just twitter is nearly every sense so it comes off as very forced.
Mastodon was a lot like this early on as well. I remember a lot of self-righteousness around not being on the “birdsite” and people insisting that posts be called “toots”. Eventually it calmed down, I think because other people started pointing out how obnoxious it was lol. Similarly, mastodon ended up having a lot of the same problems as twitter anyways.
