There’s also a bit of selection bias where the super racists leave after a few years because what is objectively not a particular caring state is still too “woke” for them so they try Texas/Colorado.
I digress, San Francisco’s politics is considered very progressive. At the same time, NIMBY laws are very strong and contributed to homelessness there.
