I can’t say too much because I do still work there (and even if I didn’t I probably shouldn’t say much), but that reminds me of one time we were working on a system for a client and we were juat told one day with 0 warning not to touch it anymore because the contract fell through in some way.
Made me so mad because it was the same day I was planning to do final testing for a feature I spend an ass-ton of time developing. Just let me see if it works, at least!!

That happens quite often with companies of all sizes and in different industries. That’s just life.
