    Akanji and Savinho both injured vs Spuds, apparently. I guess that partially explains how they lost to that lot.

      I don’t wish ill on the welfare of players, but maybe it gives us a chance in the title race.

      I also half wondered if it was a result they were happy to lose so there’s one less competition for them to worry about.

        It may. But in my opinion, there are two players that you’d need to have out to make a sizeable dent in their title hopes: Rodri and Haaland.

        I honestly don’t think so; it is helpful to be able to give senior players a 20-30 minute cameo to keep them sharp without having to risk them for the entire 90 minutes. There’s a reason why we’ve suffered after going out in the cups the past few years.
