      I mean, the title literally calls it the “worlds first all-electric train.” No idea if that’s actually true or not, but that’s the “groundbreaking” part I think

        The Siemens ES64U4 is the current confirmed holder as the fastest electric locomotive at 357 km/h (222 mph) in 2006.

        Since the fastest is from 2006, I am going to guess the train in this article is not in fact the first.

        The first non-horse trolleys were electric in… 1910’s?

        I think they were trying to say all battery driven. The vast majority of electric trains use overhead wires, and I believe some have batteries for switching and if there’s an outage. This gadgetbahn is wholly battery based, so I can only imagine how heavy it is just to move itself.
