          That actor was amazing, including in his human-imitation moments and his painfully brief emotional experience. The “make Claire break up with him” slob attempt was one of the funniest moments of the show.

            volunteered to do Topa’s trans surgery against Union orders then calmly but forcefully stopped Klyden from interfering.

                The Orville gets a lot of mileage out of the Union’s medical science being even more advanced than the Federation’s. Like the early episode where Isaac cut Gordon’s leg off as part of a prank war and the easy answer was to just grow him a new one which took a day or two.

                All the wacky Moclan traditions were very fun except for the ones that were extremely not fun.

                  The life support system was by and large in the ship’s interior walls; it was a sort of vegetation construct everywhere.

                  That’s super cool biotech and I loved that bit of background lore.
