This topic is meant to be a low threshold possibility for all kinds of discussion. It is not meant to keep anybody from creating a new topic, the idea is that it may enable some discussion that would otherwise not happen at all.

Kept keeping track of subscribers to the community (and some other cyclung communities), pretty crazy how it grew in the last quarter. I reckon adding “bikepacking” to the community name helped a lot to make it easier to find.

So clicking on this link of plactagonic’s topic got me thinking. One, my reply still has not federated, but that should fix itself once i will edit my reply to something better.

But there’s also the problem of only being able to link to the topic on a certain instance only, so people clicking the link won’t even be able to add a reply unless they are on that same instance by chance. And as time goes by, it will become harder and harder to find the actual topic on other instances. So i am wondering if it is even a good idea to link to topics from the sidebar. I was thinking to add more faq type topics, but to me this seems to be a very clumsy process now.
