    I remember vividly this happening in school in the early 2000s. A kid ripped off a poor girl’s hijab and we as a class had a conversation about why that was so utterly disrespectful and awful. It was described to us as being like ripping off someone’s underwear. I think the kid was just being a little rowdy and had no idea what it meant, and he was upset too (this was elementary school). That was when I learned what a hijab was, the respect that people that wear it deserve, and the respect that we should all share for each other.

    I never really felt the brunt of the Bush “terrorist” propaganda but I remember it infusing little parts of my life growing up. I guess these pigs were brainwashed by that very propaganda. I also suspect that this has been happening for decades, and probably dates back to those bad old days of the early 2000s. I can’t help but wonder if that kid was influenced by Bush’s propaganda too.
