memes@lemmy.world•Back when a struggle meal was called dinner on Tuesday.
4·5 months agoI can probably give some explanation. We as a household of 3 mainly cooks at home. We get fruits and veggies from costco and farmers markets mainly. The monthly grocery bills are close to 500$ with everything added up. We do try to eat as healthy as possible and cooks majority of the days. A days cooking almost looks like this
- Breakfast: Eggs/bread/avocado etc
- Lunch: Rice/Quinoa + salad/stir fry + protein(eggs/fish)
- Dinner: steel cut oats with yogurt or something similar
- Some snacks during the day and in the evening
- Coffee(homemade to reduce cost)
Almost everything adds up. Asparagus is almost 5$ a bunch. Spinach adds up to 4$. Milk is close to 7$. At the end of month when we tallied up, it was close to 500$. I dont think we are actually eating that much or even buying a lot of junk. Post covid has been a ride

Technology@lemmy.world•Tesla Robotaxi Freaks Out and Drives into Oncoming Traffic on First DayEnglish
183·5 months agoThis technology purely exists to make human drivers redundant and put the money in the hands of big tech and eventually the ruling class composed off of politicians risk averse capitalists and beurocracy. There is no other explanation for robo taxis to exist. There are better solution like trains and metros which can solve the movement of people from point A to point B easily. It does not come with a 3x-10x capital growth that making human drivers redundant will for the big tech companies.

Technology@lemmy.world•Operation Narnia: Iran’s nuclear scientists reportedly killed simultaneously using special weaponEnglish
726·5 months agoThe innocents in question are human shields being used by Hamas to protect their objectives. The suffering of those humans and children should have resulted in a massive operation to dismantle Hamas’ financial teeth. Instead hamas leaders still take all humanitarian aid and repurpose them against Israel. Qatar and Israel are the real perpetrators of this violence.

2·5 months agoThese kind of takes have the usual format of “anything a company does is bad” and is profit driven. They forget that there is something called marketing and optics behind it.

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Pakistan nominates Trump for 2026 Nobel Peace PrizeEnglish
12·5 months agoIts just buttering him up for the next terrorism attack on India that Pakistan is planning to conduct. Iran is a Shia majority country and no ally of Pakistan which is a sunni majority country. Minority sects like Hindus, Shia, Ahmadiyas and ethnic minorities like Hazaras are treated the absolute worst in Pakistan. I would be surprised if they ever ally with Iran.
Its classic projection.

2·7 months agoGood bye Jagmeet. Even though I never liked you as leader of NDP, your policies were a welcome change in an atrophied left ecosystem. Thank you.
Then came the great religion of Arabian desert which made killing people cool again.
Buddhism is a refinement of hinduism. Kamasutra is just one part of hinduism. There are philosophies like Advaita which are more complex than entire western theosophies.
