  • Wow, so condescending.

We have a 250 year old Republic that has survived far worse than MAGA. We got through the Civil War, and we will get through this.

I know what Jefferson, et al said about the Tree of Liberty and all that, but we aren’t there yet.

Frankly, your post is a bit hypocritical. You advocate for throwing away the Constitution and just have a revolution, while you cite the 2nd Amendment. Do you respect the Constitution, or don’t you? You can’t ignore it on one hand, and still use it as justification with the other.

If you do respect the Constitution, then let it play out, and respond to the MAGA response. I believe it is a better than 50% chance that there will have to be some violence during the MAGA end game, because they will have to play their final card before surrendering or being ruthlessly crushed, but it will be useless, and almost certainly pathetic.

  • 100%. I think I can finally go to a show again, and not feel like I’m at work.

Not that I’m complaining, it was literally the best job in the world, and I loved every second of it, but it does get tiring.

It took me a long time to view music as enjoyment again, and not as a way to make money. I got back to playing guitar during the quarantine, for personal satisfaction only, no plans to gig, and that’s allowed me find my musical passion again.

Thanks for letting me talk about it. I have nobody else in my life, who shares my love of music, that I can talk to about it.

  • The difference between a million dollars and a billion dollars is about a billion dollars.

To a billionaire, a mere millionaire is as much a pauper as any homeless person. When the Psychopathic Oligarchs demand a reduction in population, being a millionaire won’t save them.

In fact, the Psychopathic Oligarch’s Capital Hoarding OCD will kick in even bigger over a millionaire, because he actually has the money that they covet so badly. The rest are just drains on society, but a millionaire has something that the mentally-ill financial hoarders actually want - more wealth.

It will be for different reasons, but they’re going to kill the millionaires, too.

  • Almost certainly from his TV show, Alfred Hitchcock Presents…, which was one of those shows that came out after the success of The Twilight Zone. Outer Limits was another one. Hitchcock had a really great, dark sense of humor, and he would display it during the commercial bumpers with little clips like this, as he was telling the audience that "We’ll be back after a word from our sponsors.’

The others shows specialized in SF with a touch of irony, while Hitchcock’s show was more horror and thrillers, with a touch of irony. All great shows, which hold up well today.

If you want to experience the very best of Hitchcock (and trust me, you do), and see some of the best movies ever made, watch his films from the 40s and 50s. Nearly all of them are truly great, but my favorites are Lifeboat, Strangers in on a Train, Rebecca, Notorious, Dial M for Murder, The Wrong Man, North By Northwest, The Man Who Knew Too Much, Vertigo, Psycho, and my favorite movie of all time, Rear Window, an example of a perfect movie.

  • America and France both liberated their nations against two of the most powerful military nations in the world, with governments that were far more hostile toward their people.

Firepower is not the most dangerous weapon in a Revolution, ideas are, because they can’t be killed. MAGA will never win, because the more oppressive they are, the more support they’ll lose, even among their own followers, and even among the military. America is too large a country, and if MAGA pushes us to the breaking point, which getting closer everyday, they will be overwhelmed quickly.

A nation this large, unleashed in a national riot against the wealthy, sabotaging, destroying, burning, looting, killing, would be very, very bad for them. The mayhem would be everywhere, and military and law enforcement couldn’t handle it all. Law enforcement would be overrun within a week, and be ineffective, possibly worse.

The Sociopathic Oligarchs would run to their bunkers. We’ll deal with them later. First we have to deal with all the run-of-the-mill Oligarch wannabes, who are finding out that they aren’t rich enough to be invited to a bunker somewhere, but they are still considered the problem, and they will be dealt with harshly, as examples. Thought a little money made you better than regular humans? You will be reminded that you are not.

If you are a regular millionaire, you better start supporting Democrats and start fighting MAGA, because MAGA is going to get you and your family killed.

  • Are you actually saying that there have never been successful uprisings within a country? Because history is full of Revolutions that weren’t caused by outside forces.

I can cite the American and French Revolutions, as two obvious ones. We don’t need to be invaded to be saved.

And if we have to have a revolution to get our country back, we will have plenty of foreign support for it. The rest of the world despises Trump, even his so-called friends, and if there were a credible revolution, we would have help.

We also have an extremely strong military and legal leadership with all the lawyers and Generals they’ve fired. I just read how all of the lawyers are forming numerous boutique law firms to specifically fight MAGA policies, with each form specializing in a different issue - immigration, fired workers, etc.

What are the Generals doing? Who knows? Generals aren’t exactly known for the candor. The remaining ones were beyond offended at being summoned to DC to have Uberputz Hegseth yell at them, and are clearly unhappy.

The lawyers didn’t slink away when they were fired, what are the chances that the equally ignominiously fired Generals, who spent their lives in defense of this nation, are going to just fade off into retirement? Or are they going to want to retire on one last victory, the biggest of their entire lives and careers - nothing less than saving America from a hostile invading force?

  • I used to work for a major record company, and part of my job had me handling backstage events at many concerts by many artists of every genre, so before my “retirement” from concerts, I had seen far more shows than the average person. Easily hundreds.

It wasn’t unusual for m to see three concerts a night - a classical concert in the early evening at the concert hall (over by 9), race over to the arena for a big rock show (probably miss the opener, but catch the headliner), then off to a small club for the the second jazz show after midnight (which is always the hot set). I would do that three or four times a month, with plenty of other one-show nights between.

It was a cool job, but I got pretty burned out on shows for a while. In the 21st century, I’ve been more into Broadway shows, which are also quickly pricing out of range.

I’ve been following this cool little band called High Fade, and I saw their post announcing their tour, but I was too late. Tickets were only $15, but they had been to my city 2 weeks earlier, and I missed them. It would have been my first non-Broadway show in decades. I hope they come back soon, they’re awesome.

I’m feeling like live music more lately, so I’m going to follow your suggestions, and start digging. If youre at a show, and see an old chubby guy rocking out next to you, say Hi.

  • It’s extremely encouraging. I love that the people he is abusing aren’t just slinking away like the MAGAs expected (because thats how cowardly MAGAs would behave), they are firing back.

That’s the legal world, which isn’t known for cooperation. So what are the fired Generals doing? They are known for lockstep organization, and I doubt they are slinking away away, either. Generals aren’t usually known for their lack of courage, but they are known for their ability to keep quiet about their plans. If the lawyers are organizing against MAGA, it’s a pretty good bet that the Generals are, too.

  • No, it isn’t, not yet. We still have the 2026 Midterms, and the 2028 Presidential Election. How MAGA handles those elections will tell the tale. If they manage to game the system again, or worse, end elections with some excuse, THEN legal means have failed, and it’s time for out-of-rhe-box solutions.

I understand that people are frustrated, and want action, and that’s good. But if we respect the Constitution (which is the very foundation of this battle with MAGA) we have to reserve that righteous indignation for the moment, and let this play out until they violate the Constitution so badly that it becomes ineffective. Something like cancelling elections.

Then we have the moral authority to act decisively. And when it happens, we will have plenty of support. All the military leadership they fired, all the legal power the they fired, etc., will all support the resistance.

In addition, Trump and MAGA are REVILED by the rest of the world. Not only will our allies refuse to support Trump, they are likely to heavily support his opposition. Even those that claim to be his friend hate him, and are unlikely to help him in any substantial way, and risk retaliation and sanctions from the other nations.

If you respect the Constitution, you have to let it play out, but we all see where this is going.

  • They THINK they want us to get violent, but as usual, they are too stupid too understand how bad that would be for them.

At their core, Conservatives are intense cowards, afraid of EVERYTHING - Liberals, Gays, Trans, women, women’s private parts, other religions, foreigners, poor people, education, intelligence, Critical Thinking, etc.

The only reason MAGA Politicians follow Trump is because they fear him. But if they were to pay a serious price for their loyalty, if sticking by Trump was a literal threat to their lives, they’d dump him fast.

Instead of fearing Trump, they need to fear US.

  • I’m older, and in that era when you start considering your end, and I have recently come to terms with the concept that my life might have a twist ending that I wasn’t expecting, but now seems more and more likely. Dying as an old man in my b d seems like a wasted opportunity.

I’m keeping my powder dry for now, but I have certain personal Red lines that will not be crossed.

The first is elections. America has NEVER cancelled an election, not even during the Civil War. If MAGA does anything to stop an election, no matter what the excuse, this Democracy is over.

The second is if anything happens to certain people close to me, who are members of vulnerable groups. If ANYTHING were to happen to any of them, I will become a very dangerous man indeed.
