Authorities in Plano, Texas, are investigating what they call “an intentionally set fire” at a Unitarian Universalist church Sunday, just weeks after it was targeted for criticism in a video by an anti-LGBTQ Christian YouTuber.

A passerby spotted flames coming from Community Unitarian Universalist Church early Sunday, Plano Fire-Rescue said in a statement. The fire was around the front door and was extinguished quickly, causing no injuries, it said.

The title is incorrect. The anti-LGBTQ YouTuber didn’t visit the church, he targeted it in a video. Luckily, titles on Lemmy can be edited.

Did you read the article? He and his buds visited the church to troll them and make a YouTube vid weeks beforehand. I do believe the headline linking this between the 2 incidents is over the top and a little clickbaity, however.

This evidently happened on Sunday. This is the perfect example of the sort of thing which makes me sometimes ashamed and even afraid to live in Texas. We should be above this. How hypocritical.

Now you’ve got me thinking of The Wire and the Sunday truce. It really doesn’t take much for me to start thinking about The Wore though…. I agree with you regardless.
