For the people who don’t know, the studio that made Patapon shut down in 2021, so they made a new studio with essentially the same people and decided to do a Patapon spiritual successor. It’s going live on Kickstarter in a few days. Can’t wait.
Watching this made me realize just how much my memories and experience with Patapon are tied to playing it on a handheld. Sad this won’t be something I can fire up on a Vita but I’m still looking forward to it! FEVER!!!
IF it comes to PC, you can use a Steam Deck or similar handheld PC.
If it comes to Switch, there’s that. And I think Sony has something for streaming a PS5 to a handheld device?
I like the looks of it but is that actually how it sounds? I found it hard to even get through the video with the baby-voiced children screaming.
I mean, it’s basically the same as Patapon’s audio design.
Ok. I’ve never heard of nor played that game. Which is why I’m asking.
Ah, okay. My bad. Yes, it should probably sound something like that. At least, the consistent “Ratatan” chants (or variations thereof). Some of the higher, more meaningless screaming happens, but at least it’s not 3 out of every 4 quarter notes. If you catch some Patapon 2 videos, you’ll see what I mean.
Was patapon good? My psp was stolen before I had a chance to get into it.
It’s a great game. On the outside it’s a simple rhythm game where you give commands to move forward and attack/defend, but when you get into it it’s actually a strategy game where you customize an army of troops and take on missions that get increasingly difficult. If you ever get around to playing it I’d skip straight to Patapon 2 since it’s just a better version of the first game.
