Three homeless women who intervened while trying to stop the robbery of a 7-Eleven Friday morning in Arvada were shot.

The Arvada Police Department asked for public help trying to catch two suspects – two men who police say escaped in a white sedan with no front license plate and a brown scrape on the driver’s side door.

Two of the women were transported to local hospitals, and a third was treated at the scene, Arvada police said in a news release.

The women were part of a group of homeless people who confronted the robbers as they left the 7-Eleven at 7355 Ralston Road after shoplifting items, police said. “An altercation began.”

As the sedan left the store, it stopped in front of the group, and suspects fired seven shots at the group, police said. Three of the shots hit victims.

Police said one suspect was wearing a blue T-shirt and that the other was wearing a red shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Arvada Police at 720-898-6900.
