Second page:
Oh cool, this lets you find out who specified person is.
It’s Edward Snowden, that they are censoring there.
Not sure where you’re getting Edward Snowden from in this screenshot or the main post. The article you linked to doesn’t appear to have any screenshots of google searches. And the original post appears to be about a defector, Schmidt.
They’re talking about the list having a person’s name censored. They tracked down which article was visited (pretty easy to do, since removing a name from a headline doesn’t make the headline hard to search for).
I suspected it was Snowden. I mean, who else has there been for notable US defectors that got prominent news articles?
I doubt it was Snowden. A security expert wouldn’t used google as search engine, especially in a way they could pin point it back to him…
Maybe the North Korean defector?
Maybe try reading the comment you just responded to again
Well that clarifies how stupid this guy is to think you can defect to US strategic ally Pakistan. They’ll happily let you in, pump you for information, and extradite you right back to the US though.
Well unless you’re Bin Laden. Then they’ll put you up in a cozy mansion and pretend they knew nothing.
Oh I wouldn’t say they’re the best allies to have, just that they wouldn’t gain any juice by keeping a US national. They’ll happily throw them away.
Putting aside what I think of him, he’s clearly not that stupid as he’s been outside of US hands for almost 10 years now.
He’s was just arrested upon voluntarily flying back to the US…

Why do you think this story in the news? He flew to San Francisco and was promptly arrested just the other day: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-67036082
I was referring to Snowden.
You were responding to this comment about Schmidt googling seeking asylum in Pakistan: https://kbin.social/m/[email protected]/t/519145/-/comment/2804303
Incredibly this is real.
Wow, this guy’s search history reads like a 12 year old trying to find porn online. Also that search history gets even more pathetic on the second page.
Yeah that’s the one where he searches on reddit!
In all fairness, due to the sheer size of Reddit the likelihood of a drunk expert-in-that-specific-thing that rejoices in oversharing their very specific knowledge is not 0%. Dude was desperate.
We know his perfect answer was probably buried 12 subcomments deep on a 6 year old hentai thread, though. Only written online as the result of said aforementioned expert butting into an argument about pillow exports or something. Out of reach. Forever lost to the vast expanse of the internet.
Anywho, sucks for that guy. He’s in prison now because his google search landed him in North Korea.
to be fair, the ones that don’t look like a 12 year old probably weren’t caught.
Concerning that the government can get all that personal info about a person.
The search warrants must get broad in a hurry when the case involves attempted transfer of classified information to unfriendly governments.
They asked Google what his search history was. A search history he could have chosen to delete if he wasn’t such an unbelievable pillock. We are hardly talking about Ninety Eightty Four here.
Weird there’s no “big titty goth chicks” in there
He’s busy spying!
Shoulda been busy fapping. Big Brother stops watching you as soon as they realize you are just jerkin it to freaky stuff like ‘Treasonous Blowjobs’ and ‘How do I defect my hard on?’
Should I go to Switzerland? Nah. I want the spicy experience.
Hell even Sudan would have been an improvement over North Korea.
Shoulda used nord vpn! /s
Or just like to an internet cafe or library or something!
Damn, I didn’t think anyone on hexbear was old enough to be enlisted. 😂

I’m just guessing here, but it sounds like that the specific person that was redacted is Edward Snowden?
