Fury is excellent but extremely depressing. Thin Red Line is a Terrance Malick movie so kinda…out there and not terribly realistic as I recall… Haven’t seen Hacksaw Ridge.
It is a gritty movie about the emotional toll of war and how people get hardened by it. With tanks. Worth seeing but I couldn’t stop thinking about it for a while afterwards. I’ve actually touched Fury, it’s in the tank museum in Bovington.
Also why are you looking for WWII movies thinking they are going to be lighter? :D
You want Hogan’s Heroes in that case, at least as long as you don’t read about Bob Crane.

Interesting I was assuming Fury would be lighter as I don’t link Brad Pitt to depressing stuff. What makes it so depressing?
