Hi all, I’ve created a community to discuss Heartstopper, the ongoing LGBTQI+ young adult graphic novel, webcomic and Netflix series written and illustrated by Alice Oseman. It would be great if we can find fans here on the fediverse and discuss over at [email protected]

It’s amazing that such a cute, innocent, and wholesome teen romantic comedy could make me cry like a baby.

I guess it’s all that trauma from growing up closeted and some other things.

Oh MrFagtron9000 it does bring up some feels doesn’t it?

I just discovered Schitts Creek the other week and had no idea how gay that was. I’ve not cried like that in years! Have you seen it?

Loved it. Eugene Levy and Kevin McAllister’s mom are so funny.

It’s nice to see so much queer representation that isn’t like sad coming out stories or like hypersexual cruising stuff.

Moiras accent is amazing. Goals for sure.

You’re right, the representation is so positive and not through the lens of trauma or grief so it’s much more real in some ways. Not saying lgbt people don’t have trauma but there’s other parts of them too!
