Neocore games, Hungarian developers with great ARPG titles like Warhammer 40k Inquisitor, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing.
Also many small studios in Slovakia, my favourites are the indie RPGs: Vikings: Wolves of Midgard, Shadows: Awakening, Vaporum
Last year I played mostly Polish games and I must say the style and attention to detail is unmatched for titles with same budget/intended audience.
And yes, they are indeed “polished”.
The Invicible is an amazing sci-fi adventure/walking simulator, with a story taken from a Stanislaw Lem novel.
Luv me houseflipper!
This war of mine is very interesting and a novel use of the medium
SUPER
HOT
I’m still not entirely sure what the story was about but damn the game is good.

We love Frostpunk in this house.
Have you played the sequel? Im curious if it’s worth it
Yeah, quite different. The Civ style hex based grid took a bit of getting used to.
It’s a good game on its own right, but very different from the original.
Feels more like a spinoff than a sequel, but I liked it.
Thanks. I’ll have to try it out
And timberborn?
Thank you for pointing this out!
Weirdly, I have never been able to get into the witcher or cyberpunk. Normally they’re the kind of games I’d love, but for some reason I just find it a chore to play them.
I’m the same. I’ve gotten to the castle in the first area of Witcher multiple times, and then I lose interest. I should love it, but there’s something about it that doesn’t work.
I’d get that from Red Dead Redemption 2 but I don’t see the chore aspect in those games since you don’t need to farm, you can just go through the main story and not worry about being under-leveled.
Unless you mean there’s too much story/dialogue but I wouldn’t call it a chore
Poland also makes dope tactical/outdoor gear shout out to Helikon Tex
I am just sad they don’t produce in Poland. Unlike I believe, the Slovenian, (though way more expensive) UF Pro
That is unfortunate
bloober team is horrible lol let’s not praise them for their country of origin alone
I played Layers of Fear(Bloober) right after SOMA (Froctional games) and LoF was extremely subpar.
Years later I tried The Blair Witch (Bloober) and it was terrible
There’s also “against the storm” - a cool city builder kinda game with a cool twist:
you really have around 2 to 3 hours for a base and dependent on your performance you can unlock more stuff for your future bases
Outriders was such a disappointment. It had a good amount of marketing put into it, was clearly meant to be a gaas, but fell flat on its face pretty quickly and even released a DLC content update very shortly after release, and was then abandoned.
But so many other good games on that list!
Yeah, I came here to say, it feels wrong reducing People Can Fly to Outriders when pretty much every game they made before are much more interesting
I had a blast playing it with a friend, nice power fantasy game.
Soldat missing from this list.
