Not at all.
When Trump put tarriffs on China during his first term, apple wanted to circumvent them. So they still had their stuff built in china but they then sent them down to vietnam to effectively just package and label them so they could put a “made in vietnam” sticker on there.
It shows you where the last production step was taken, but a lot of companies abuse that system.
Identification marks and health marks are the oval-shaped markings found on food products of animal origin in the European Community, required by European Union food safety regulations. It identifies the processing establishment that produced and packaged the product and that is therefore responsible for its hygiene status.
The identification and health marks are not an indication for the specific origin of a particular piece of food by themselves, as they do not encode the location of the farm that provided the initial raw product or livestock

Long story short: They tell you where the yoghurt was produced, but not where the cow producing the milk was living.
And to add to that, you can also look for regional products. In Germany you will find the abbreviation of the state on the label as well. MV- Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, BB- Brandenburg, BY-Bayern, etc.
so is it only for animal products?
Yes.
If you buy fruits or vegetables at the grocery store, the country of origin or the country where it was packaged must also be stated. (The chanterelles packaged in Poland might originally be from Belarus)For organically grown food, there is also the eco-label indicating whether the ingredients are from EU or non-EU countries. The country issuing the label is usually where the importer or the producer is located.
