to be fair to historical precedent, that’s one of the reasons Israel has given for bombing Palestinian hospitals for the past 50 years.
not a new line.
I don’t see why they wouldn’t just store the gold in a bank.
Oh.
gold in the basement
It’s like the IDF wants to reinforce and feed horrible stereotypes about the Jewish people.
Zionism has antisemitic roots. So I guess we shouldn’t be surprised.
More like: some guy we tortured told us there was gold in the basement.

Israel claims Hezbollah bunker under Beirut hospital holds millions of dollars
"
Israel has accused Hezbollah of keeping hundreds of millions of dollars in cash and gold in a bunker under a hospital in the southern suburbs of Beirut, though it said it would not strike the complex. The Sahel hospital in Dahiyeh was evacuated shortly afterwards, and Fadi Alame, its director, told Reuters that the allegations were untrue.
Israel did not provide evidence for its claim that cash was being kept under the hospital. Instead, it published an animated graphic that purported to show a bunker under the hospital
"
The entire hospital was evacuated because of fears Israel would bomb it. Israel has since bombed a crowded apartment complex close to the hospital but not directly the hospital. And Israel has bombed banks they claim have links with Hezbollah. Because money is now a valid military target…
The article I saw was about the BBC touring the hospital basements and finding nothing under it, and the staff/patients evacuating in the safe assumption that the building is gonna go boom.
