Seattle, I have literally never heard of Seattle putting scrambled eggs on their pizza. How do I know? Because in the Midwest they have breakfast pizza that is delicious where they do that, but if you ask anyone from Seattle they’re immediately disgusted by the thought. So now I doubt the entire video.
I bet you haven’t even been to the state of Taco Island.
The Colorado one isn’t accurate either. There’s one small pizza chain called Beau Jo’s that makes “mountain pies” like they show in the video, but they’re super litigious about anyone even slightly imitating them. They’ve actually trademarked the term “Colorado-style pizza,” thus preventing Colorado from having an actual Colorado-style pizza. Which is a shame because “mountain pies” are far from the best pizza, and it would benefit a lot from some outside innovation.
If Colorado has a Colorado-style pizza thing it’s probably putting honey on the crust. Which actually may have started at Beau Jo’s, but they pretty much have to do it because, for there being so much of it, their crust really kind of sucks and nobody would eat it otherwise.
I’ve been to beau jos in fort Collins! Very good, but when I’m in fort Collins I’ll admit I’m partial to Krazy Karl’s. Honey on the crust definitely makes me think of Colorado, but I’ve seen that in multiple places too outside of Colorado
Yeah, that’s definitely not a thing. There’s a few places that do pizzas that have eggs on them, but not scrambled and they’re bougie gourmet pizza places. It’s definitely not a Seattle thing by any means. Most pizza places here don’t have egg options.
As a non-American, I have no idea if any of this is true, but I love it anyway.
And I love Dunkey.
